The City Council of Badalona (Barcelonès) has suspended , due to the growth of the pandemic in the city and in the whole of Catalonia, all the activities organized by the consistory that may involve crowds of people. Thus, the local government also recommends the suspension of activities with a large influx of public that are private .

Catalonia closes nightlife again and saves festivals
The local executive has announced the measures on July 6 through the publication of a municipal statement signed by the mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol , given the increase in infections due to covid-19 in Catalonia. In fact, the indicators of the state of the pandemic in the city reached record figures this Monday, July 5. Thus, the duration of these measures is established until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 11.

From the City Council of Badalona, ​​given the increase in infections, they believe it necessary “to adopt a series of measures at the municipal level to contain the epidemic outbreak ,” they point out from the council. Some of which, being more restrictive than those provided by the Generalitat de Catalunya, in view of Resolution SLT / 2048/2021 , of June 30, and in the absence of powers, take the character of recommendations.

Thus, the new restrictions imply the suspension of the celebration of: Nights in the Port (Friday and Saturday); the Summer Nights at the Anís del Mono Museum ; the tribute to Josep Gual organized by the Espai Betúlia ; and the installation of a giant screen in the Gran Sol park, in case the Spanish soccer team reached the final of the European Championship .
